The Organization

The e Green Library is a non-profit organization, independent of party politics and religious denomination. Our goal is to bring together all those who want to contribute to or support activities at the Green Library in Lund. The organization is building and running an information centre for environmental issues. Members, companies and authorities aid our financing. Since our beginning in April 1992, our activities have increased in accordance with an increased demand for information.

Visit the Green Library

You'll find us at Winstrupsgatan 3 in Lund, in the heart of the city: two blocks away from the railway station, four buildings away from the public library. The trip is worthwhile in order to get acquainted with our resources and to learn what we have to offer concerning service in environmental matters.

Write, phone, fax or e-mail your questions to us

We receive questions from all over the country and answer them within one or two working days. It is possible for us to send books on loan, photocopies of articles, or a suggestion on how to get in touch with an expert when needed.

We have about 10 000 volumes

The Green Library has a good selection of books and reports on environmental issues from the last 20 years. Our catalogue is easy to search and now holds about 10 000 titles.

a
More than 300 periodicals

Information from periodicals is often more up-to-date than from books. We can also make computer searches on topics in all Swedish periodicals via the Library Service database (Bibliotekstjänst) and Article Search resource (Artikel-sök).

a
Environmental knowledge workshops

The Green Library has educated about 200 upper secondary school classes in how to find answers to their questions on environmental issues.

a
Examples of questions about the environment

Questions could concern practical environmental problems like composting, source-sorting of household wastes, environmentally sound offices, schools, kitchens or bathrooms, ecological food, ecological house construction, radon in buildings, renewable energy, etc. We can also address questions concerning theoretical issues like environmental philosophy, morals, ethics and justice.
